About Vinny Nobile

Vinny Nobile is an accomplished musician, holding a diploma in Classical Studies from The Juilliard School and a Bachelor of Music, Jazz Performance from The New England Conservatory. Vinny's love of Island music started when he joined the Haitian band Volo Volo which led to being recruited by the critically acclaimed Boston band Bim Skala Bim who toured and recorded for over a decade. He then co-founded The Pilfers who's sound was described as Reggae meets Heavy Metal Ragga Core, they signed to Universal Records and sold over 100,000 cds. He has made guest appearances with artists The Mighty Mighty Bosstones as Vito Incognito, Less Than Jake, Violent Femmes, The Specials, Bad Manners and English Beat. In 2004 Vinny won the John Lennon Song Writing Contest for Best Song in the children's category. He is currently the director of music for the children's house at the Whitby School , Teaching privately and freelancing with various artists all over the tri-state area.
